handy converters for older rims

These are the cheapest adapters I've found. Get the job done at a reasonable price. Just the thing when you want to install presta-valved tubes in a Schrader-drilled rim.

It may not seem like a big deal to have two different types of tubes in your bikes...because it's not. Standardizing all the family bikes to presta valves from the mix of presta/schrader lets me carry just one pump/inflator and makes trail side maintenance easier for me. This item keeps the valve area of the smaller presta valve from being rubbed through at the larger schrader opening on typical kid bike rims. It's a small problem with a small inexpensive solution. I ordered about 8 of these and the seller just sent me an envelope with about a dozen, so now I can share.

For YEARS I have tried to remember to pick some of these up at the bike shop but kept forgetting. My valve would bang around in my carbon rims which I did not like at all. I installed these on both sets of carbon rims and the problem is fixed! These are great quality and were very easy to install. I highly recommend!
