I will no longer be using any plastic rim strips of any type. These particular ones are made of a very fine fiber cloth material. One tiny stray fiber punctured my tube. Other plastic rim strips fracture under high inflation pressures, usually at the spoke holes, and the sharp cut edges cause flats. I was warned about this by my local bike shop but did not listen. They said to stick with old school Velox tape. Which I am now doing. Velox tape has NEVER caused a flat on my bikes in over 40 years of use. Every high tech plastic/ synthetic strip I have ever used has eventually caused a puncture.
The packaging on these Zipp Strips is different than when I bought mine. Maybe the product is different, I do not know if they have changed to try to prevent these problems. But I am sticking with Velox .
