Much better than Original Equipment.

First day with new bike, got a flat from the spoke access hole in rear wheel rim...the edge was sharp, and the factory had misaligned the rim tape. The spoke holes are HUGE in these inexpensive Swift Arriv rims, and the factory-supplied rim tape was thin & narrow...ordered the SRAM 700C x 16 mm rim tape, and it is much, much better. The SRAM tape is thicker, about 20 percent wider than the factory tape, has a reinforced valve stem hole, is nicely stretchy, and has a subtle texture (don't know what the texture is for).
Installation was easy...used a smooth-edged tool to lightly lift and reposition, to ensure the tape was well centered. At 16mm, the tape completely covers the "bottom" of the wheel rim, and just a bit of the sides. It is perfect for these rims [which take a 700 x 28 tire). Not sure why the factory chose this nice red color, or went to the trouble of printing multiple logos and installation icons on these rim strips [which will never be seen by anyone other than the installer), but they are functional, inexpensive, and give great peace of mind.
Note: when I got into the front wheel, found the [factory installed original] rim tape misaligned there also.

I rescently changed tires and tubes on 2 old 10 speed bikes, these were a great step up from the old rubber liner. They come 2 in a pack and are very easy to use, the are wider and thiner than the original rubber strips but are much stronger. If you have ridden for a while you will know that most flats are caused by the spokes and not anything you accidentally run over. I have been riding the city streets for years and have only had 1 flat because of glass. These will save you the trouble of fixing tubes.

Installed easy, providing stretch without worry of breakage. Fairly easy to reposition for valve hole alignment. Way cheaper than I could find local for similiar or equal quality. Fit right on 27 inch rims like they were made for it !
